Blue Smoke

I had brunch with a friend the morning after Halloween and we decided to go to Blue Smoke, a ribs/jazz place in Murray Hill.

I had 2 Bloody Marys there, which so far, makes it one of my favorite places for the drink.

The drink was perfectly spiced, specially made with their "magic dust" (old bay), a wedge of lime and lemon. Texture and size were great as well as the price.

Barrow Street

We stopped by Barrow Street a little while ago on a quiet Monday night. I've always walked by this bar and was curious to see what it looked like on the inside.

I was a little disappointed at the decor on the inside, when the hanging sign on the outside had totally sold me! It's your usual corner bar, with flat screen TVs and booths.

So anyways, Alex and I ordered two Bloody Marys. First, one olive in each glass but no celery stick, which is always a favorite of mine! Everything was great until we tasted the drink and it seemed as if there was NO vodka in the drink. After debating for a few minutes, Alex went up to the bar and they added a shot of vodka, assuring him there was already one before...mmm ok, sure!

Verdict? Too watery, too much ice however the taste is excellent. Very torn, definitely not the worst one but definitely not the best one either.
